Solving problems in GTA4 with launch and textures. Return of GTA IV textures Download new textures for GTA 4

1) The main thing you need to install mods is a program Spark IV (Download / Mirror) or Asi Loader(Download / Mirror)

Let's start the tutorial by installing mods using Spark IV

[YourDrive]GTAIV/pc/models/cdimages/vehicles.img

4) Now we just need to replace the files with the ones you downloaded. For example, this is what I have

If we have only one file, then we only need to change it. We have a file in the archive turismo.wft (attention to the file extension, do not mix it up) I only need it. It is done like this:

- click on turismo.wft in Spark IV

- In the window that appears, we are looking for a file from the archive with the downloaded car

- open it

- Click "Rebuild (A window pops up)

- Everyone, close the program. We go into GTA IV and look for the car on which the mod was installed

Change the clothes or skin of a character or weapon just like cars. The only thing is that you will have to edit other files. For example, for clothing or replacing the main character entirely:
- "...Rockstar Games/Grand Theft Auto IV/pc/models/cdimages/playerped.rpf"

And to replace a character:
- "...Rockstar Games/GTA IV/pc/models/cdimages/componentpeds.img"

To change weapons:

- "...Rockstar Games/GTA IV/pc/models/cdimages/weapons.img"

Instructions for installing mods using Asi Loader

1. Copy the file " dsound.dll" to main game folder

2. Install the .Asi mod in the same folder with the game.

Almost all owners of the game Grand Theft Auto IV have a problem with textures, all because Rockstar Games has introduced a restriction on graphics settings, thereby forcing players to buy modern video cards. Since buying video cards is not affordable for everyone, a way was found to get around this problem ,using the file commandline.txt

commandline.txt
To file commandline.txt you need to enter

-noprecache
-novblank
-availablevidmem 2

-availablevidmem is just the item that makes the game think that you have a larger video card
instead of the value 2, you can substitute another value, the range from 2 to 7, after these manipulations the game shows me all the textures, the only negative is that now I have 15fps, but this is already a matter of overclocking, which should be discussed in the appropriate topic. The return of GTA IV textures

- Almost all owners of the game Grand Theft Auto IV have a problem with textures, all due to the fact that Rockstar Games has introduced a restriction on graphics settings, thereby forcing players to buy modern video cards. Since buying video cards is not affordable for everyone, a way was found to get around this problem, using the file commandline.txt.This file allows you to unlock graphics settings if you do not have enough memory on your video card and the game prohibits moving the slider further, besides, they say that this file improves performance and increases FPS (frame per second - frames per second). But alas a problem arises: textures disappear (Houses, roads ...). A solution was found for GeForce video cards by updating drivers, the same method exists for owners of ATI Radeon video cards, but alas, it does not help everyone.
So, let's start. I am the owner of GTA IV (patched), a computer with an ATI Radeon X1950Pro video card, an E2140 processor and 2gb of RAM, since playing at low settings does not suit me, and no one knew a way to return textures for me, I started looking for information.
So we need the same file commandline.txt,I cheated the game and made it so that now it considers my video card not 256mb, but 512
To file commandline.txt you need to enter

Good day. So I decided to write my first short article with a solution to a problem in GTA 4, which is quite common among users, namely the solution to the problem with "available memory" in the game. It occurs on certain components. Especially often for those who have integrated graphics and a video card. Okay, let's get started.

The essence of the problem is that for some reason the game sees 124MB of memory, as a result of which the game does not have enough space to store objects and the population of the city. As a result, with such a problem, people can observe the following: the game does not start, or it loads endlessly, or it starts, but without textures and almost no city population. In general, there is such a "beautiful" picture.

There is a solution to this problem and it is simple. For some reason, there is little information on this topic on the Internet, and if there is, it is very delusional and not correct. This is the main reason why I created this article, summarizing and testing all the information received.

So, to get rid of the problem, we create a text document in the folder with the installed game called commandline . You need to enter only one command into it - availablevidmem * . Where * is a number that is selected individually. It is a simple multiplier, like when overclocking a processor. By increasing the multiplier, therefore, the frequency of the processor increases. So here too. Here you have 124MB of memory available in the game settings - start from this volume. If you need 1 GB, then just set the multiplier to 8 (-availablevidmem 8). 124*8= 992 MB. That's all. Launch the game and enjoy. Here is a photo after the fix.

Compare the first photo with the second one. Here, I hope everything is clear?

By the way, here's what the text document looks like.

There are 2 more interesting commands that you can enter, but they are of no use, and in some moments it even gets worse. They are written to the same text document in any sequence.

Here they are:

1)-norestrictions

The command removes the memory limit set by the game ITSELF. This parameter is located in the game settings - graphics "memory available". The essence of the command is that you can bypass the built-in memory limiter by setting ultra settings even with 500 MB (When your game sees little memory, it does not allow you to set settings, some weird things happen to this command. If you have 124 MB of memory available, there will be no textures at low settings, but at high settings they will appear. How and why? I don’t know. Fun in general. This the command is completely useless. There is no point in entering it when it is possible to increase the multiplier yes, it does NOT solve problems with launch and partially with textures.

2) -nomemrestrict

The command removes the memory limit. As a result, the game does not delete the cache during the game, because of this, computers with 4 GB or less may have problems with a lack of RAM. The game will start to "freeze" after 2 hours. This command must be erased if you have 4 GB or less of RAM. Performance is affected inconsistently. With a small amount of RAM (4 GB or less), there will be a negative effect, and with a large amount of RAM 6 GB or more, there will be almost no positive effect. So entering this command is also useless. By the way, it also does not solve the problem with the launch and textures. Only on monitoring the game eats as much as 5GB of RAM. With the command disabled, it eats 3,600MB and friezes with 4 GB of RAM disappear.

By the way, my system is:

Windows 10 (1607) LTSB

Processor N4200

Video card gt 920MX (GDDR5)

Checked on other systems. The behavior is the same everywhere.
