What does mpc extreme mean. MPC-HC - what is this program and is it needed? Additional income. Marginal propensity to consume and save

Additional income. Marginal propensity to consume and save

Let's assume that at the current moment of time we have some kind of "economic equilibrium". Each household spends part of the money received on consumption, and saves part of the money by making savings. Let us assume that as a result of economic growth, additional income has arisen in the household. It is logical to assume that the result of this process will be an increase in consumption.

In order to estimate how much consumption will increase with an increase in household income, an indicator is used called marginal (additional) propensity to consume(MPC).

MPC Formula:

MPC = ∆C / ∆Y
where:
ΔС - the value of the increase in consumption costs

Since not all additionally received funds will be sent for consumption, the rest will be directed to savings (accumulation). Therefore, a similar indicator is called marginal propensity to save (MPS). It reflects the value showing what part of the additional household income is used for savings (accumulation).

MPS Formula:

MPS = ∆S / ∆Y
where:
ΔS - the value of the increase in spending on savings (accumulation)
ΔY - the amount of increase in household income

Since additional incomes are either consumed or saved, it becomes clear why the total sum of the marginal propensity to save MPS and the marginal propensity to consume MPC is always equal to one. That is:

How to interpret the meaning of MPS and MPC?

For example, when MPC = 0.9, this means that 90% of the increase in household income goes to increase consumption. Accordingly, since the sum of MPS and MPC is equal to one, then 10% will be saved as savings.

The problem of playing video content in Microsoft Windows operating systems has always been quite acute despite the presence of the Windows Media Player in them. Once, in version 6.4, it was a simple and understandable program, but over time it turned into a multimedia monster, while most users needed a simple player that starts playing any video file on double-click. And the WMP 6.4 replacement appeared - back in May 2003, an enthusiast under the nickname Gabest released the first version of Media Player Classic, based on the old Microsoft design. Over time, the project acquired support for various features, including GPU acceleration, and turned into the well-known and beloved Media Player Classic - Home Cinema (MPC-HC).

Classic MPC Home Cinema look: nothing more

In this project, full-fledged support for DXVA was implemented, including for H.264 and VC-1 formats, the EVR renderer, and a mechanism was introduced to get rid of “frame tearing” (tearing). There is also a 64-bit version of the player. The program could both be built into the system and used as a "portable application". With a small amount MPC-HC has an excellent set of features and is able to play almost any video file with audio tracks in various formats, from PCM to AC3, DTS and even Dolby Atmos. It even supports the playback of animated videos in Flash format. Moreover, the program can even act as an interface to TV tuners with the ability to record a video stream; however, in this regard, the capabilities of the MPC-HC are quite basic. But the remote control system is very advanced - WinLirc and uICE systems are supported, which makes the MPC-HC an excellent "heart" of a home media center.

It looks like the development of the project has come to a logical conclusion. At the moment, the developer has announced version 1.7.13. An announcement appeared on the project website stating that at present the number of programmers participating in the development of MPC-HC has been reduced to zero and the project has been officially recognized as "dead". Those wishing to continue development can contact the creators via IRC or email. But this does not mean that MPC-HC itself is dead: firstly, the player is still available for download and still works great with most media formats, and secondly, there are branches of the project, the most famous of which - - has more modern interface design that fits perfectly into the GUI of Windows 7, 8.1 and 10. Development of MPC BE is ongoing, and at the time of writing, the last contribution to the repository was made only 16 hours ago. However, if someone likes the original MPC-HC more, then it is also available for download from the project website. It's too early to say goodbye to this excellent program - it will honestly serve moviegoers for a long time to come.

Hello friends, so MPC-HC is a video player program with which you can watch movies, all sorts of videos. That is a program that opens video format files.

I completely forgot - MPC-HC stands for MPC is Media Player Classic, but HC seems to mean Home Cinema.

So, once again - MPC-HC is a simple media player, popular, it is simple and convenient, but not the best. No, there are no minuses as such, however .. all the same, in some cases it will be better than VLC. But if you just need to watch movies, ordinary ones that you downloaded from the Internet, for example, then the MPC-HC in most cases will cope with a bang.

And this player is completely free, and this is also a plus:

To be honest, it always seemed to me that Media Player Classic had something to do with Microsoft .. it seemed that they made it ..

Media Player Features

After reading a little more, I realized that MPC-HC really most likely stands for Media Player Classic Home Cinema. And this I am leading to the fact that ... this is not quite the usual version. There is also a regular version of Media Player Classic or MPC for short.. and this is what this version looks like:

By design, I can conclude that MPC worked back in the days of Windows XP ..

Therefore, let's first look at the possibilities of MPC .. so here are the main possibilities in my opinion:

  1. Playback of VCD, SVCD and DVD formats without installing additional codecs. Here, as I understand it, the trick is that .. you can watch a DVD without installing additional software. Yes, this is a plus, the main thing is that the player understands a DVD disc well, it's not just a movie in one file.
  2. RealMedia and QuickTime playback. Well, I don't know what to say here, since few people watch videos in this format. But here the jamb - it is these formats that can be played, provided that the appropriate codecs are available. But I think that this problem is solved by installing the K-Lite Codec Pack, you just need to install the full version, it seems to be called Full.
  3. Play any file format that supports DirectShow, such as DivX, Xvid, H.264. Yes this good. And formats can be played even without installing additional codecs. Another question is how smooth will the video be on weak PCs? Yes, guys, the speed of the video player and the omnivorousness in terms of formats are perhaps the most important thing.
  4. Playing Flash-movies in the presence of an installed ActiveX plug-in with the ability to rewind. Well, that's good, but in practice, few people watch flash videos on a video player))
  5. Playing damaged AVI files. The option is interesting, VLC also has this.
  6. Watching movies in a resolution different from the current one. If at the same time the load on the PC decreases, then yes, this is a very useful option. But .. does the resolution change happen on the go? If so, then it probably requires processor resources ..

Well, now the disadvantages:

  1. There is no automatic adjustment of brightness and contrast. This is a dubious drawback, because it is still unknown how well this option can work correctly, it can easily turn out that it only harms.
  2. Requires the processor to support SSE instructions. This is also a dubious shortcoming. All modern processors that are five years old, and although I think even older, support this instruction. Well, if the Pentium 4 processor, then it’s worth it .. hmm .. generally convert the video to low resolution and watch it, for example, in VLC.
  3. To play some formats, you need to install a codec pack. Yes, I consider this a minus, because the necessary codecs may already be wired, such as in VLC.

Sori guys, I just tried a lot of players and realized that the most omnivorous and fastest player .. is VLC, but this is my personal opinion!

That is, as you can see - Media Player Classic is a completely normal player, simple, ordinary. But it cannot be called omnivorous in terms of video formats.

About Media Player Classic Home Cinema

I wrote that the development of the program has stopped. But the player is now being developed by third-party programmers - they are finalizing it, fixing bugs, all this is good. But this particular version, which is already supported by other programmers, is called Media Player Classic Home Cinema… and this is what this version looks like:

Well, in principle, almost the same as the regular version .. not Home Cinema ..

And here are the settings:

Top Menu:

This version already includes codecs, so you don’t need to install additional codecs .. hmm .. but I don’t think everything is so smooth - when I tried to open a video file, again, Media Player Classic couldn’t open it, but VLC could. Yes, I don’t remember exactly what version of Media Player Classic I had - but it seems that .. it was Home Cinema.

The interface in this version has been simplified and translated into many languages.

Supports many versions of Windows - from XP to Windows 10.

So, here are some more differences from the regular version of Media Player Classic:

  • Support for visualization EVR, madVR. Well, not particularly relevant, but also good of course.
  • On-screen menu available.
  • Support for multiple monitors.
  • Option to remove video frame jitter. Hmm, cool feature, provided it works correctly.

And then there is MPC-BE, have you heard of this? BE stands for Black Edition, and is a version based on the Media Player Classic and Media Player Classic Home Cinema projects. Perhaps this is the version that brings together the best of both of these projects.. here's what it looks like:

Is this program necessary?

Good question. You need this program if you:

  1. Watch movies, for example, download them from torrents. Without this program, it will be impossible to watch movies, except perhaps with a built-in video player.
  2. If you watch DVD movies. Hmm, well, of course, everything is clear here, however, I think disks are not very popular today already .. this boom of disks, as it seems to me, has long passed)) Although you can still watch movies from a flash drive.

In general, it seems to me that it is most convenient to watch movies online.

The player can also be removed to install another one. For example VLC - there is everything you need, adjusting brightness, contrast and other things. Another good video player is PotPlayer.

How to uninstall MPC-HC?

Here is a simple mini-instruction on how to remove the video player:

  1. Hold Win + R, write the appwiz.cpl command, click OK.
  2. The installed software window will appear. There will be a list. Find MPC or Media Player Classic here, right-click, select Uninstall.
  3. The Uninstall Wizard will appear on the screen. Just follow the instructions, usually you need to click Next / Remove / Next / Uninstall.

Not everyone knows this, but .. after removal, it’s even better to clean the remnants manually, don’t worry - there’s nothing complicated. It's just that the program can leave behind settings or something else .. to check, then hold down Win + R, write the command:

Click OK. A folder will open where all the settings are stored - see if there is a folder in the name of which the word MPC is mentioned? If there is, then the program left this folder. You can try deleting or renaming by adding, for example, the _ symbol, and if there are no glitches for a couple of days, then delete it. But that's just for security purposes.)

Dear, in this way you can generally remove any program))

Are you an advanced user and want to delete it in such a way that even after and clean Windows automatically? No problem. Use an uninstaller, I can recommend two - one is more simple, it's Uninstall Tool, and the other is Revo Uninstaller. Both can clean leftovers in the registry and among files. I think Revo Uninstaller cleans better..

Conclusion

Guys, it seems we have found out the main thing:

  • MPC-HC is a video player that ceased development in 2006.
  • But today there are kind people, and they keep MPC-HC up to date.
  • My personal opinion is that there is nothing special in the MPC-HC, and in design too. Works fast. However, it seems to me that many people liked it precisely because of its simplicity!
  • If necessary, the player can be safely removed.

That's all gentlemen, I hope that this information was useful to you. Good luck and good luck, see you soon!
