I purchased this apparatus for joint pain relief. Unfortunately, I didn't notice such a specific effect. The pain syndrome still persists, perhaps it decreases, but does not completely go away. This device is good in terms of complex treatment, I think it should successfully complement medications. Plus, maybe I haven't been using it for long enough, so I keep going and hope for the best. Well, technically, no questions asked, the device works well.

Devices "Matrix" (like the devices of the previous generation of the series) consist of four main parts:

To create a working set for the "Matrix" device, it is absolutely not necessary to purchase all four components of the device - it is enough to have a base unit and one or several emitting heads. If necessary, you can always additionally purchase the necessary equipment.

The basic blocks of the "Matrix" apparatus, depending on the version, have 2 or 4 channels for connecting the emitting heads with the possibility of independent setting of parameters (frequency and radiation power) for each channel. The presence of independent channels makes it possible to increase the efficiency of work, since for the implementation of various methods it is not necessary to change the emitters, it is enough to select the desired channel by simply pressing a button.

Each device "Matrix" contains a built-in photometer, which allows you to measure the radiation power of all types of heads. When measuring the radiation power, the device automatically determines the type of head used, the radiation wavelength and displays the radiation power value on the digital display in watts (for pulse heads) or in milliwatts (for continuous heads).

The device "Matrix" provides for the possibility of external modulation of radiation, including the BIO mode, which changes the power of the laser radiation during the procedure synchronously with the pulse and respiration rate of the patient.

The device is equipped with various replaceable laser and LED emitting heads (see the Emitting heads page). In addition, specialized heads are connected to the device:

  • infrared matrix (ML01K) with a large radiation area (0.89 microns, maximum power 50-60 W);
  • multi-color matrix laser-LED head MLS-1 "EFFECT", combining pulsed lasers with a wavelength of 0.63 and 0.89 microns and LEDs of blue, green and IR ranges;
  • emitting heads for extreme high-frequency (EHF) therapy with a wavelength of 7.1, 5.6 and 4.9 mm.

If necessary, the EHF-range heads are completed with nozzles for acupuncture.

All of the above-mentioned emitting heads (except for the EHF-range heads) also work with the devices of the Mustang-2000 series.

Various, mirror, acupuncture and intracavitary nozzles can be used with the heads.

The choice of emitting heads (number and technical parameters) is influenced mainly by economic and methodological considerations. We recommend choosing the minimum reasonable set of emitting heads, which is sufficient to implement the basic techniques. In the future, it will always be possible to additionally purchase the missing emitting heads, guided by the principles below.

  1. LO7 and CLO6, with the maximum power for radiation therapy, are used mainly for the treatment of diseases of the tonic type, when it is necessary to provide the maximum dose.
  2. Of the LO1-LO4 emitting heads, LO3 is recommended, although the methodological recommendations most often indicate lower powers (5-10 W) - a reasonable margin does not hurt, and when working with nozzles, the power decreases on average by 2 times. Let's not forget that for the implementation of many techniques, 2 emitting heads are required - the paravertebral technique, the effect on the joints from both sides, etc.
  3. Pulse emitting head LOK2, operating in the red spectral range (0.63-0.65 microns), is most effective for combined or combined exposure to the LO3 head (IR spectrum).
  4. KLO1 and KLO7 at their minimum power are used practically only in reflexology.
  5. Of the continuous heads, KLO3 is the most common, which completely replaces helium-neon lasers in terms of its characteristics.
  6. Matrix head ML01K is the most versatile and should be included in almost every set.
  7. The emitting head MLS-1 "EFFECT" is complex in its application and has a high cost, which is often justified. The efficiency of the head is largely determined by the presence of pulsed lasers, both red and IR.
  8. CL-ILBI for intravenous laser blood irradiation is rarely included in a universal kit, since it is preferable to have a separate device (see below).
  9. Matrix LED emitting heads MSO3-MSO6 are used practically only in dermatology and cosmetology.

Thus, the most optimal today is the presence of 4 emitting heads in the set:

  • pulsed IR with a power of at least 15 W (LO3) - 2 pcs.
  • matrix with pulsed IR lasers (ML01K) - 1 pc.
  • continuous with a radiation wavelength of 0.63 microns and a power of 10 mW (KLO3) - 1 pc.

The heads must be equipped with magnetic (ZM-50 and MM-50) and mirror (ZN-35 and ZN-50) nozzles, and depending on the field of application, optical nozzles can also be added - ENT, dental, gynecological, etc. p. To carry out ILBI, a room with certain sanitary and hygienic requirements is required, therefore it is preferable to use a separate apparatus (ALT "Matrix-ILBI").

Optical attachments

A wide range of intracavitary nozzles is produced for the Matrix laser therapy devices, which allow increasing the effect of laser therapy by delivering radiation directly to the pathology focus.
In various attachments, radiation losses are low and range from 20 to 60% of the power at the output of the emitter, which characterizes their high quality.

Proctological tips

Forms a radiation spot of Ø 5-10 mm at an angle of 120 °, which allows obtaining a local distribution of power density.
Used in urology for transrectal irradiation of the prostate gland

It is used in urology to irradiate the prostate gland (transrectally) or in proctology to irradiate the walls of the rectum.

Distributes radiation evenly over the cylinder O 9mm and length 25mm.
It is used in proctology to irradiate the walls of the rectum (anal fissures, hemorrhoids, etc.).

Urological nozzle

It is made of flexible materials 30 cm long. At the end it has a cylindrical scattering area 20 mm long.
Designed for transurethral effects on the prostate and urethra.

Gynecological nozzles

Scatters radiation over an area of about 15 - 20 mm in contact.
They are used for intravaginal irradiation of the cervix and appendages.

It is used intravaginally for some inflammatory diseases.

Otorhinolaryngological tips

A set of 3 attachments.
When connecting, an adapter is used.

Dental handpieces

A set of 3 attachments.
When connected, a collet clamp is used.

Acupuncture tips

Designed for reflexotherapy effects on BAP
Nozzle for EHF-therapy emitters, designed to influence BAP

Emitting heads with one laser source allow the use of optical attachments for introducing laser radiation directly into the light channel without the use of special optics, using a simple threaded or collet connection ("rigid" tool). At the outlet of the nozzles, the required distribution of the luminous flux is obtained, delivered to the desired place.

For laser therapy, a set of instruments containing the following indicatrices is sufficient: “cone”, “wide cone”, “cone to the side”, “sphere”, “cylinder”. The necessary scattering diagrams, depending on the task, are formed by processing the distal end of the light guide to a certain geometric shape, introducing a metal reflector into the cavity of the protective shell of the distal end.

The optical fiber instrument consists of three main parts: a connector for fastening, a rod and a working part - an optical diffusing element. From the optical connector to the diffuser, the radiation passes through the light guide. The diffuser provides the convenience of fixation in the cavity of the pathological focus and its uniform irradiation.

Mirror and magnetic attachments

Mirror and magnetic attachments are connected to the devices of the "Matrix" series, which serve to enhance the effect of laser therapy in the course of treatment.

Mirror attachments receive radiation that is not absorbed by the patient's skin (reflected from it) and reflect it back, thereby significantly reducing losses and increasing the amount of radiation absorbed by the patient.

Magnetic attachments are designed for the combined effect of a magnet and a laser - magneto-laser therapy. The combined application of these influences is much more effective than their separate application. In medical practice, the most commonly used magnets are 25, 50 and 75 mT. The magnetic field of the attachments is maximally extended towards the area of influence.

Magnetic tips have different values of magnetic induction and are designed for magnetic laser therapy (MLT). In medical practice, magnets with an induction of 25, 50 and 75 mT are most often used, for which an optimal set of KM-2 nozzles for MLT has been developed. The currently used magnets are made of special alloys of rare-earth metals based on Nd2Fe12B, and are structurally made in such a way that the magnetic field is maximally stretched towards the direction of impact. One set contains two magnet holders and two ring magnets (Fig. 7), which from different sides have different values of the magnetic induction: 25 and 50 mT; 50 and 75 mT, respectively. This is done so that you can vary them as freely as possible and use a magnet on two emitting heads at the same time. The most commonly used mirror magnet 50 mT - ZM-50.

For matrix emitters ML01K for ALT "Matrix", specially designed magnetic attachments MM50 and MM100 are used, with magnetic induction of 50 and 100 mT, respectively.

In addition to intracavitary and magnetic, there are optical attachments for external use.

Mirror attachments: the most common are ZN-35 (diameter 35 mm) and ZN-50 (diameter 50 mm). Designed for the mirror-contact method of exposure. They are extremely versatile and useful:

  • increase the depth and intensity of the therapeutic effect,
  • ensure the stability and reproducibility of the procedure,
  • protect nursing staff from reflected radiation,
  • ensure the hygiene of the procedure,
  • make it easier to calculate the dose, since the effective area of influence is taken equal to 1 cm2.

Acupuncture nozzles: plastic A-2 (spot size no more than 2.5 mm) and modern fiber optic tips with a metal tip A-3 (spot size no more than 1 mm) - designed to concentrate laser radiation on acupuncture points.

Prefix "BIO" to ALT "Matrix"

Biosynchronization of time parameters of laser radiation exposure with endogenous biorhythms of a particular patient is one of the most interesting and promising directions in the development of treatment technology and methodology. This operating mode was implemented in the "Mustang-2000" ALT with the "BIO" block-attachment, and now it has been applied in the "Matrix" apparatus. The "Matrix-BIO" block allows for laser irradiation, modulated by signals from the pulse and respiration sensors connected to the patient. Biological laser therapy takes into account the biorhythmological characteristics of the patient, thereby achieving a stable therapeutic effect, no side effects at a lower dose of exposure.
When a pulse sensor is connected, the amplitude of the laser radiation is modulated by the patient's pulse, when a breathing sensor is connected, by the patient's breath, respectively. As a result, in the phases of expiration and diastole, the radiation power is minimal, and in the phases of inspiration and systole (the most favorable moment of exposure) it reaches the maximum value set before the procedure.
The principle of measuring pulse parameters is based on the operation of an optoelectronic photodiode-LED pair. Depending on the amount of blood filling, which changes synchronously with the pulse, the intensity of the signal passed through the finger changes, which is recorded by a photodiode. The processed signal is then fed to the laser power modulation circuit.
The breathing sensor is a pair of thermistors (in a plastic case) that change their resistance in proportion to the change in air temperature that occurs during breathing; located directly at the patient's nose.
