The ReaddleDocs utility from Readdle has recently become free. At the same time, she changed the name to the more understandable and grayish Documents. Of course, it didn’t get any better from the renaming, but the freeness seriously added to the popularity of the application. Documents is positioned as a program for organizing, storing and viewing various office files.

My attitude to such applications is wary. I am one of those people who believe that it is better to look at photos in one application, work with text documents in another, listen to music in the player, etc. When an application has a bunch of multifaceted functions, it often happens that many of them are incomplete ... But such applications have the right to life, since they can significantly simplify this very life, if some features are needed from time to time.

Files, files, files ...

The design of the application is excellent. I'm not a designer, but when almost everything is pleasing to the eye, no questions arise. When opening Documents, it greets the user with various types of files that he can open (and sometimes modify) in the application.

Everything from the fact that there is a mode of displaying files with large icons. In icons, even the first phrases are visible in text documents, which is undoubtedly very convenient.

File management (copying, moving, creating folders, renaming, etc.) is done well. A standard and quite expected minimum set of features. You can even create a basic text document as a bonus.

There seems to be no problem with opening documents either. But for some reason, one test PDF file did not open for me and the application crashed at the same time. Later, in a few hours of work, the application crashed 2 more times - not a good sign.

It is possible to read books in Fb2 or Epub. At the same time, pages are flipped no worse than in iBooks. It seems to me that it will be convenient to read books in Documents, although those who are accustomed to a specialized reader are unlikely to switch to something else.

The program supports many formats, all of them are listed in the built-in instructions in the program in English.

In general, Reeddle's dislike for Russia is rather strange. The developer is a certain Igor Zhadanov. But do not expect any descriptions in Russian of this company's applications in the App Store, or Russian instructions from them.

Not so long ago, a reader named Alexander wrote me a letter in which he gave a whole instruction on how to save website pages in PDF using some kind of online service. I kept thinking what to answer him, since the method involved, in my opinion, unnecessary body movements. The Universe threw Documents by Reedle as a solution to this problem.

You open a page of any site in the internal browser of the program and save this page in PDF from the menu. That's all. Very comfortably.
