Instructions for use of the Lethrus A250 metal detector. Lethrus A250 Metal Detector User Manual Garrett ace 250 Metal Detector User Manual

So, you have become the proud owner of a brand new Garrett Ace 250 metal detector. Now there is an important step ahead - to bring the device into working condition (to assemble and configure). The first thing to do is to carefully read the manufacturer's instructions, it contains important recommendations and tips for setting up and operating.

Assembling the Garrett Ace 250

The Garrett Ace 250 metal detector is very easy to assemble, but first you need to make sure that all the parts listed are included in the kit:

  • S-bar frame
  • Upper and lower rods
  • two flywheels
  • two washers
  • One bolt
  • search coil

If something is missing in the kit, immediately run to the dealer for the missing parts along with a receipt. We proceed directly to the assembly.

  1. First you need to attach the coil to the lower rod, to do this, remove the pieces of paper from both washers and press firmly against the rod, after that you can put on the coil.
  2. Carefully inspect the coil - it should have holes into which the bolt should be inserted, and then tighten the flywheels.
  3. Connect the upper and lower rods.
  4. Insert the resulting design into the frame of the control panel by pressing two buttons, adjust the height.
  5. The search coil wire must be wound around the rod, then the plug from the search coil must be inserted into the corresponding connector.
  6. Adjust the armrest by removing the screw from the bottom of the armrest and unfolding the cuff.

Setting up a Garrett Ace 250

Setting up a Garrett Ace 250 metal detector is quite simple if you give it due attention and enough time. The Ace 250 has advanced features that need to be sorted out.

Switching on / off is done using the POWER button. The same button returns the factory settings if you hold it down for a few seconds. It will come in handy if, by inept actions, you “set up” the device in such a way that you cannot figure it out. Now let's start setting up the main functions.

Sensitivity

The Garrett Ace 250 has 8 levels of sensitivity, which are switched by the "SENSITIVITY" button and displayed on the screen. To search for small or deep objects, it is recommended to set the maximum sensitivity level. If you are searching in highly mineralized soils, with other diggers nearby, set the sensitivity level to the minimum to avoid false signals.

Operating modes

You can select the most suitable operating mode by pressing the "MODE" button. If your task is general reconnaissance of the territory, select the "ALL METAL" mode, for searching for jewelry, the "JEWELRY" mode is suitable, in which metal debris such as bottle caps, aluminum can tabs and foil will be ignored. The COINS program is used to search for coins, in this mode metal debris is excluded, the device is aimed only at searching for non-ferrous metals. The RELICS mode is used to search for military trophies, the CUSTOM MODE mode is a user setting.

"CUSTOM MODE" can only be programmed by the user, at the factory setting it is identical to the coin search mode. Individual settings are made with the "DISCRIM" and "ELIM" buttons. Custom mode is good at finding specific items. While in CUSTOM mode, wave a small gold object in front of the coil, mark the position of the target ID pointer. Use the DISCRIM button to move the pointer to the right. Use the “ELIM” button to remove the pointers on the discrimination scale, leaving only one mark where the pointer appeared when scanning the target. Now your metal detector is set to search for small jewelry.

Tone identification

Depending on the conductivity of the detected object, your Garrett Ace 250 metal detector will beep a certain tone. If you hear a thin lonely signal, then the find has a high conductivity. The standard signal indicates the discovery of coins, jewelry with medium conductivity. A low sound signal notifies of objects with low conductivity, this group most often includes metal debris.

pinpoint

The Garrett Ace 250 metal detector is equipped with an accurate target location function. To determine the location of an object with an accuracy of millimeters, press and hold the "PINPOINT" button. The upper scale on the display indicates the strength of the signal, and the moment when the largest number of segments appears on the scale from left to right means that the coil is directly above the object. In this case, the depth of occurrence will be reflected on the depth scale.

Nutrition

The ACE 250 is equipped with a battery charge indicator that turns on automatically when the battery is about to run out. Since the device uses, perhaps, the most commonly used AA batteries, it should not be difficult to replace them. To replace the batteries, open the compartment cover on the control unit. If the metal detector is not used for more than a month, you need to remove the batteries from it.

As you can see, setting up the Garrett Ace 250 is quite simple, the most important thing is to pay due attention to this process. Then you can avoid unpleasant surprises and achieve maximum search efficiency.

This is a metal detector for lovers of treasure hunting.

Thanks to electronic technology, A 250 got the ability to present the results of the determination of the find automatically on the display. This simplifies the operation of the device and increases the pleasure of searching. Read the instructions carefully before use.

It is most important to analyze the QUICK START and the BASIC ACTIONS.

TERMINOLOGY

The following terms are used in the manual and are commonly used in metal detection.

Dynamic mode : This is one of the operating modes in metal detection technology. It means that you must move the searchcoil to find the object. Usually the dynamic mode allows to reduce the effect of soil mineralization and promotes better discrimination.

Non dynamic (static) mode this is a different mode of operation in metal detection technology. While searching, you should not constantly move the searchcoil. You will get results as the searchcoil slowly approaches the metal from a distance. In static mode, the device does not detect the type of metal.

Elimination(exclusion) of a certain metal is possible at the choice of the owner. During the search, when the indicated metal is close to the search coil, the device will not respond with either tone or light on the indicator.

Discrimination. When a fixture produces different tones or gives different designations for different "types of metal" and when a fixture "excludes" certain types of metal we are talking about "discrimination" among various types metals. Discrimination is an important feature in professional instruments.

Ironis a very common metal. Usually it is not the target of the search. Examples of unwanted finds are rusty nails, nuts, old cans, lids, etc. But some iron things can be valuable (weapons, armor, etc.)

Ferrous metals - Metals containing iron.

junk metals - caps, drink caps - the most annoying finds for searchers. When searching, they should be excluded carefully, as some other valuable objects may have similar electromagnetic characteristics, so they will also be excluded from the search.

Pinpoint- the process of the exact location of the object. As in dynamic mode, you must move the searchcoil slowly as you search. Pinpoint mode always works in static mode.

Soil balance. Since the metals are buried in the ground, the mineralization of the soil affects the search. Soil balance excludes or weakens the protective effect of mineralized soil. Soil balance includes internal soil balance and adjustable soil balance.

Coin depth. When they talk about the depth of a coin, they mean a 5 ruble coin in neutral soil or at about the same distance in the air. This is not the exact depth.

3) Save the coin position and release the PINPOINT button. Press the PINPOINT button again after a few seconds, the lower indicator will turn off, the sound will return to the initial state, the depth value will return to full scale.

4) Slowly move the coin to the center of the coil again, the lower indicator will appear again and increase, the sound will increase, and the depth indicator will decrease, which means that the metal target has become closer to the center of the coil.

5) Repeat the above procedures at a distance of 5 cm, the pointer and sound will not change.

6) For items from various materials the device will give a similar response. After doing this operation, the user will receive initial information about Lethrus 250 and will be able to proceed to the next stage of the device foundation.

NORMAL MODE

KEY ACTIONS

The device is used outside the home. There are too many metals and various types of electrical equipment in the room, which give an overlap of signals. Therefore, you cannot predominantly use the appliance indoors.

It is more difficult to use the instrument in the field, the structure of zonal soils, the composition, size, shape and oxidation state of underground metals all affect the search results.

1.Turn on

Press the POWER button, the device will sound in 4 frequencies, and all items on the display will light up for a minute. Standard mode - ALL METAL and sensitivity at level 3.

2.Setting the search mode

Normally the user should select the ALL METAL mode. Then the device reacts with discrimination to all types of metals.

If the user has a clear search intent, then other modes can be selected: if you select DECORATION mode, you can exclude hardware. If you have chosen the COINS mode, you can exclude iron and various types of lids from cans: 3 "garbage" metals. If you are an advanced user, you can also select the NORMAL mode, which allows you to freely select excluded metals.

Since the soil gives deviations from the search values, we advise you to take a few items with you, such as 5 rubles, 1 kopeck, etc. Bury these items in the soil of the region where you are searching, try to find the appearance and position of the discrimination indicator, mark the treasures that you want to find.

3.Choose sensitivity

The user always expects to set the sensitivity higher. However, with a high degree of sensitivity, the device will be sensitive to electromagnetic influences from surrounding power lines or cables, it will be more affected by the mineralization and electrical conductivity of the soil. If you move the searchcoil in the search area and the device sends an unstable incorrect signal, please reduce the sensitivity.

If you search together with a partner at the same time, please pay attention to keep 10m or more between you and reduce the sensitivity accordingly

4.Coil movement

When searching, you must move the coil at a constant speed, evenly. Let the coil be parallel and at a distance of 1 - 2 cm from the ground, do not swing it like a pendulum high and low above the ground. (fig.19)

The most valuable metal objects will send repeated signals. If the signal doesn't repeat, it's probably wrong. When there is a clear sound indicating a buried item, you can read the approximate find type and depth on the display. And you can then move the coil faster over the object to get a more stable signal.

5. Use sound to help you discriminate

While searching, you are not always looking at the display. And the sound identification system produces 4 frequency tones to help you distinguish between objects.

Low tone - ferrous metals (iron nails, caps, etc.)

Medium low tone - penny coins, covers from Cola

Medium tone - bottle caps, zinc coins

High tone - copper, aluminum, 5 rubles, etc.

6.PINPOINT

When searching in dynamic mode, you must move the searchcoil continuously, even if you find the place of buried metals, it is not easy to find the exact location. This makes digging difficult, at which time you should return to PINPOINT mode.

1)Press and hold the PINPOINT button. The upper pointer on the display will disappear, the unit will emit a separate low frequency sound, the sensitivity is the highest. If the lower pointer does not completely disappear and the tone increases, please repeat the action (release and press the PINPOINT button)

2) Let the coil get close to the ground, when you find a find, move the coil slowly in place; at a position where an individual frequency tone becomes louder, the signal strength indicator on the lower cursor will begin to appear. Continue moving the coil slowly until the sound intensifies and the signal strength indicator is all illuminated.

3) Follow (save) the position of the device, release the PINPOINT button again, the device will self-adjust and will sound in a separate low-frequency tone, the signal strength indicator will turn off. When you slowly move the coil again, the single frequency tone will increase and the signal strength indicator will light up more. (p.)

4) Repeat the action and approach the target several times until you find the exact location of the metal find. You can make a note on the ground above the center of the coil to make it easier to excavate.

5) During the Pinpoint process, the depth indicator turns into a signal strength indicator, which shows the distance between the center of the coil and the find. At the end, the depth indicator will remain at 5cm and 10cm, which means that the find is close to the center of the coil.

7. Ground balance

Before using the PINPOINT mode, you must ground your device. This ground balance adjustment prevents exposure to salts and minerals in the soil.

1) Find a surface area without metal objects. Start with the ground balance button in the PRESET position.

2) Raise the coil 1 m above the ground (Fig. 20). Press the PINPOINT button while keeping the coil position about 1 cm from the ground.

3) If the single frequency tone does not get louder and the signal strength indicator does not increase, the instrument is ground level.

4) When you bring the coil closer to the surface, the single frequency tone gets louder and the signal strength increases, which means you should balance out.

Feedback

So, in order, the information is confirmed by the test reports of the leading manufacturers of polystyrene concrete, I made a conclusion for myself and wrote at the end of the commentary. MOISTURE RESISTANCE and HYGROSCOPICITY This is the most important property of any building material, especially in areas with high humidity. The higher the moisture resistance of the material, the more durable, stable and warmer it is. Polystyrene concrete absorbs no more than 6% of moisture from the atmosphere, it can be in the open air for almost unlimited time. STRENGTH Due to the super strong cement-polystyrene matrix, polystyrene concrete has unique strength characteristics. This material is so durable that a fall from the height of a five-story building will not cause significant damage to the block. FIRE RESISTANCE Polystyrene concrete does not burn, it is able to withstand the enormous temperatures caused by fire, due to its unique thermal conductivity coefficient, it does not allow heat to penetrate deep into the wall. Flammability class NG. Fire resistance class EI180. DURABILITY The service life of a house made of polystyrene concrete is at least 100 years. Over the years, the strength of polystyrene concrete only increases. FROST RESISTANCE Tests for frost resistance and the amplitude of temperature fluctuations from + 75°С to - 30°С were carried out on 150 freeze-thaw cycles without loss of integrity and heat-insulating ability. THERMAL INSULATION It has long been recognized that polystyrene (styrofoam) is the best heat insulator in the world, it is even warmer than wood! A house made of polystyrene concrete does not require insulation: it is cool in summer and warm in winter. NOISE INSULATION Polystyrene concrete provides the best noise absorption rate, 18-20 cm dampens sound from 70 decibels. Consequently, there is special comfort in the house made of polystyrene concrete: noise from the street and inside from neighboring rooms and bathrooms does not disturb. ECONOMY The cost per square meter of a finished wall is cheaper than other materials. Due to the high level of heat retention, walls made of polystyrene concrete can be built 25% thinner than from alternative materials (aerated concrete and foam concrete) and 4 times thinner than brick. Savings on wall thickness lead to overall savings in the construction of the box (foundation, roof and walls) up to 50%. At the same time, the quality of the house will be even higher, and the house itself will be warmer. SEISMIC RESISTANCE Seismic resistance 9-12 points. Polystyrene concrete has not only compressive strength, but also the highest tensile and bending strength. Therefore, polystyrene concrete is considered the most reliable and earthquake-resistant material. LIGHTNESS A large-sized block 200x300x600 mm does not exceed a weight of 17 kg, which facilitates the work of a bricklayer and reduces the time for laying walls: it replaces 20 bricks in volume, and almost three times lighter in weight. ANTISEPTICITY The additive used in the manufacture of polystyrene concrete does not allow insects, rodents to start up in the walls, prevents the formation of mold and fungus that have a negative impact on health. VAPOR PERMEABILITY Polystyrene concrete walls “breathe” similarly to wood walls, and there is no danger of condensation and waterlogging for them. This provides a comfortable environment in houses made of polystyrene concrete. PLASTICITY Plasticity is the only material made of cellular concrete that makes it possible to produce window and door lintels, its bending strength is 50-60% of the compressive strength, for concrete this parameter is 9-11%. CRACK RESISTANCE Polystyrene concrete, due to its elasticity, is incredibly resistant to cracking. And this guarantees a long period of preservation of interior decoration and durability of the whole house. MANUFACTURING High speed of erection of wall structures due to the lightness and convenient geometry of the blocks. Easily sawn and chiseled, the ability to give the building material any geometric shape. ENVIRONMENTAL The International Building Code (IRC) classifies polystyrene as one of the most energy efficient and environmentally friendly insulation materials. Thus, polystyrene concrete has a lot of undeniable advantages over materials such as expanded clay concrete, autoclaved and non-autoclaved aerated concrete, foam concrete, wood concrete, etc. The disadvantages of polystyrene concrete appear only if its brand is chosen incorrectly and the masonry technology and preparation for interior decoration are violated. It can be said with absolute certainty that there is not a single significant advantage for materials such as aerated concrete and foam concrete over polystyrene concrete. At the same time, polystyrene concrete significantly surpasses them in key characteristics.

The Garrett ACE 250 metal detector is very easy to find. Much easier than in the user manual for the metal detector and on the video disc (which comes with the ACE 250). Yesterday I gave my spare ASYA 250 to a friend who had never held a metal detector in his hands before. I gave it along with instructions in Russian… We have been digging for 20 minutes, and a friend is standing and reading the instructions!

T Which example inspired me to develop my own Garrett ACE 250 metal detector mastering plan, taking into account experience. How to start searching with Garrett ACE 250, learn in 5 minutes.

Assembly

First time(new metal detector out of the box). We insert rubber gaskets into the lower rod (with a sleeve for the coil), these are seals so that the coil does not hang out. We dress the coil and fastened it with a plastic bolt. Tighten so that the coil moves tightly. That's it, your Garrett ACE 250 metal detector is in its traveling condition. Three parts, lower shaft with coil, middle shaft and shaft with metal detector block. We throw it into a backpack (or bag) and go to the cop (is there? It will be difficult without it).

Assembly Garrett ACE 250 on the cop. We arrived, took out three parts of the metal detector. We connect three rods together. We wrap the coil cord around the rod and stick it into the metal detector unit, tighten the lock.

We wrap the cord more tightly, especially at the bottom near the coil. The loops will cling to the branches. We tighten the latch well (without fanaticism, just tightly). A non-twisted latch hello to the fact that after walking many meters (kilometers) you will always think ... Why don’t I come across finds? It was already like that.

Collected? We put the coil on the ground (just hold the metal detector in the search position, with one hand) and orient the coil (directly on the ground) so that it is parallel to the ground. That's it, you are ready to row finds with a shovel.

Garrett ACE 250 metal detector

You have a Garrett ACE 250 metal detector in your hands, which divides all metals into 12 groups. The first 3-4 (the fourth is not always) groups are ferrous metals, then the flower garden. If there is something under the coil of your metal detector, on the scale (metal detector screen) there will be a cursor on a certain group. Plus get an audio response. Low tone iron, high sound is a color find.

Turn on

When turning on your Garrett ACE 250, the coil must be on the ground. We are waiting for 1-2 seconds (until the second squeak). Switch to Relic mode (Mod button). In this mode, you cut off all primary targets from dark iron.

Sensitivity can be left untouched (initially it costs -2 divisions) or twisted to the maximum. Let's go swing the reel...

First steps

Important! We swing the coil quite intensively. If you wave slowly, the metal detector may miss your first coin. It is important for the size of the amplitude, and the speed of the wiring on the target. It's best to just throw a coin (a modern Ukrainian one will do, better 25 or 50 kopecks), and.

Keep the coil as close to the ground as possible. If it's grass, you can even drive on the grass. We protect only from possible impacts on stones and tree trunks.

What are we digging

Don't immediately try to dig out any peep from your Garrett ACE 250! Any metal detector, even the most expensive one, can make mistakes. Therefore, the signal must be clear or, more simply, dug. At first, we ignore the signals that I “jump”, then a black signal, then a color one. You will deal with them later with experience.

If the signal is only with a wave in one direction. We turn 90 degrees and check this place from a different angle. If the signal appeared in both directions, you can dig. If not, skip the beginning.

The best way to understand what to dig and what not to dig comes with experience. But this process can be accelerated. Take any old coin, throw it on the ground… And now drive your ACE 250 coil for days… The signal is clear and practically does not jump! Now dig it into the ground (not deep, otherwise you will lose it ... just kidding), wave the coil again. And again, the signal is almost clear, if it jumps around the color range.

Those. If the signal jumps in a good range, this find is worth checking. If he jumps from color to black, there is reason to doubt.

Real treasure hunter

We found the first coin (wire, vodka visor or shell case of the Great Patriotic War) ... Most likely on the first day you will dig up all sorts of nonsense. Everything from the fact that it is not the place that plays a big role, but the place where you came to look for. Choose a promising place and you will feel what the joy of finding with a metal detector is.

Here is an example of finding a place to search with a metal detector, using an old map from the 19th century. .
