To increase the capacity of the basket, you need to right-click on it and click "Properties".
I do not advise you to remove the check mark against the phrase “Ask for confirmation of deletion” in order not to accidentally delete some necessary and important files. In the properties, you can increase or decrease the fixed volume of the basket. Act at your own discretion. If you make the recycle bin too small, then all deleted files will be permanently deleted and they can be restored only with the help of specialized programs. Therefore, think five times whether it is worth reducing the volume of the basket.
To delete a file permanently, without placing it in the trash, you can use Shift+Delete. If you do not delete some file, then you can use . But that's a completely different story.
Continuing the topic of “incomprehensible” files that a user can find on his computer, today we will consider a folder called RECYCLER (in Windows XP), or $Recycle.Bin on Seven.
This folder is located at the root of each drive, and has a hidden and system attribute. Therefore, if you have disabled the option to show hidden files, you will not see this folder.

But the following question may arise - the Recycle Bin on the Desktop is empty, but the folder RECYCLER still contains some files. Here we must not forget that several users can work on a computer - each under their own account, therefore, in the folder RECYCLER may contain files from another user's Recycle Bin. It is also quite likely that you reinstalled Windows after a serious failure and in the folder RECYCLER leftover files from the previous operating system.
Delete folder RECYCLER it will not work, since it is a system one, but it is quite possible to delete the files and subfolders attached to it. This action will be equivalent to emptying the Recycle Bin on the Desktop.
