Well, it happened, and our beloved company once again showed the world the creation of its annual labor. Everything went as usual: reporters, press, reviews from critics and bewilderment of ordinary fans - "Is this really all?" The only thing missing this year was the captain of the spaceship from Cupertino, her ideological inspirer, Steve. Despite such a short period of time, his departure has already borne fruit. What did they show us this year? Let's figure it out together.

The new iPad. New page in the RE chapter of the company's evolutionary development

As usual in our narrow circles, even before the conference, the entire Network generated a huge amount of materials dedicated to the new announcement. The comments of eyewitnesses from China, analysts from Wall st. and the work of designers trying to anticipate what exactly awaits us in March. However, as in the case of the iPhone 4S, many expectations were not confirmed and what seemed to be one hundred percent fact did not find its justification. Apple did not change the facade of an expensive and popular building and decided to leave everything as it is - the tablet has not changed one iota. Why do something when competitors seem so weak? To increase the loyalty of your audience and gain new fans? Now, unfortunately, this is no longer the direct task of the company.

Of course, everything is not so sad. Customers received a device that is 98% compatible with all purchased accessories. Vendors, again raised their hands to the sky and thanked the heavens for the opportunity not to rebuild production for new tablet formats.

The new iPad is all the same space shapes, nice scratch-resistant metal, surprisingly wear-resistant back cover. This is still the "future that you can hold in your hands." Let us be generous and again forgive them for this.

Package

As expected, the design of the device has not changed. Nevertheless, I will try to help you distinguish when buying a new device from the beloved iPad 2. As you can see, the upper part of the package has received small changes - it now shows an iPad with a new background image from iOS 5.1. On the side, in turn, there was an iCloud icon. All new Apple laptops and iPhone 4S received similar markings.

It may seem somewhat unusual that the new name is not present anywhere on the packaging. By purchasing a device, you are not buying The new iPad, but simply an iPad, apparently not just a final product, but a product category. To be honest, it should be noted that the name did not appear on the second iPad either, although at that time the packaging received external changes relative to the original tablet.

The situation is very similar to minor updates MacBook Air/ Pro, iMac, etc. In fact, the name so amicably picked up by all the media is not his name, it is really just a new iPad, without unnecessary regalia.

Appearance and dimensions. "Light my mirror, tell me ..."

Let's briefly note the small changes in the form factor of the device and the camera lens.

The tablet has become a little thicker and noticeably put on weight (try to imagine how many compliments the company's engineers received from marketers, unable to overcome this ☺). And if the change in thickness from 8.8 to 9.4 mm went smoothly enough and, most likely, will go unnoticed by you, then the increase in tablet weight (in comparable configurations) by 50 grams sends us further and further back to the original iPad.

Let me remind you of the weight of the top-end configuration of tablets of different generations.

iPad 1: 730g
iPad 3 / HD / The new: 662 g
iPad 2: 613g

I marked them in this order for a reason. As you can see, in terms of weight, the new iPad is almost exactly in the middle between its predecessors.

Many may think that such a slight increase in weight (± 10%) is not fundamental and did not affect the overall ergonomics of the device, but in reality this is not entirely true. The thing is that unlike laptops, which are in a bag or on a hard, stable surface most of the time, you hold a tablet in your hands most of the time. Any change in weight will directly affect the usability and the so-called user experience will be somewhat different in any case.

For a long time testing various options, ranging from the color of materials and ending with the diagonal of the display, the designers at Apple found a kind of middle ground and now, without departing from it, change the proportions of the tablet within acceptable values.

It fits nicely in the hand, compared to the previous generation, the feeling from its use has become better. Whatever you say, despite the rounded edges, iPad 2 initially looked a little pointed. By the way, the new model will certainly appeal to fans of the original iPad, who were pleased to take their tablet in their hands, and feeling its mass, authoritatively declare “Thing”.

Resolution Revolution. New generation screen

One word can be used succinctly and succinctly - impressive. There really is something to impress you, from the already familiar excellent viewing angles to the unusually detailed degree of drawing the interface and the quality of the new picture as a whole.

Like Siri on the iPhone, the iPad's next-generation hi-resolution display has become the anchor stone that Apple's public eye is focusing on.

A big headache for the company's engineers (increased power consumption, new graphics processing requirements, internal layout), it has become the admiration of millions of buyers around the world. In the video review, I will try to focus our attention as much as possible on it.

The overall impression of using such a display is the joy of launching each new one optimized for it. During use The screen The new iPad looks like a chipped slice from a quality 27-inch iMac display, wrapped in a thin metal frame with added touch capabilities. The only small difference is that sitting at the iMac you are at a decent distance from the screen, and you hold the iPad almost in front of your face.

Consider the following numbers. The TFT display on the huge 27-inch 2011 iMac is 2560 x 1440 pixels, while your new tablet gets a high-quality 9.7-inch IPS matrix with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 (!) Pixels. Thus, even slightly surpassing the elite candy bar.

Due to the good viewing angles, in some cases we can talk about print clarity of images.

New screen problems

Not without incidents. Many are wondering it was originally conceived or we are talking about a mass marriage among devices in the first weeks of production, but the screen really turns yellow. To appreciate the full scale of the problem, I suggest you see everything for yourself.

In some cases, such color operation allows you to display a more juicy and interesting picture.

However:

Applications

Let's talk about …

Marketing Tricks

Not everything is so rosy in the ninth kingdom, as advertisements draw us. As I already noted in the video review, Apple marketers have once again slightly changed the concepts that are inconvenient for presenting to a large audience. Along with a rather controversial statement about more than fourfold superiority of the new A5x processor over Nvidia Tegra 3, the designation of the new iPad screen - retina display was also announced.

The new iPad achieves 264 ppi dots per inch (PPI - pixels per inch), while the original retina display in the iPhone 4 offered the consumer 326 ppi. The numbers are not so important to the end iOS user who wants to get a high-quality product without measuring the diameter of the core of his processor, moreover, it is precisely because of the pursuit of numbers that various accusations often fly towards Android apologists.

However, in our case, the problem is a little deeper than simply decreasing the numerical ppi value in retina. You may have an unpleasant aftertaste due to the fact that expecting to get a perfectly clear picture in your new tablet (and in fact, you are giving more than $ 500 for a new screen only), identical to your iPhone, you will find yourself a little deceived in expectations.

Despite the excellent display quality, if desired (and good vision), you can notice a small pixel grid. Everything, of course, depends on the pattern of use, but the print quality of the text edition, the new iPad has not yet reached. That, however, does not necessarily apply to viewing digital photos, the printing of which on paper starts at 250 ppi (264 now has an iPad).

Camera

Along with the new screen, the tablet also received a new camera designed to provide it with the remaining sensors from the iPhone for display material. Many believe that there are no people using a tablet directly for shooting, but I have to debunk this myth. When I visit Europe, I quite often meet girls and young people who enthusiastically take pictures on their iPad 2. Moreover, during a recent trip to the United States, in the same excursion group with me there was an intelligent-looking elderly American who used his tablet for the whole trip. shooting panoramic images. I can't say that I agree that doing something like this on the previous iPad was very reasonable, but for recording video, it was and remains a fairly good option. Substantial weight and form factor allow you to record video, avoiding the noticeable image jitters inherent in shooting on the iPhone.

The camera update has affected the hardware and software characteristics of the tablet. New 5 megapixel sensor and opportunity 1080p video recording (30 fps)+ autofocus.

Quite enough for outdoor shooting, but still a lot of noise in low light inside buildings. It is good at taking text information and will surely help many students. The official designation of the camera is iSight.

Hardware and general changes

All other changes listed below were mainly aimed at leveling the consequences of installing a new display and maintaining the previous quality and cost characteristics of the tablet. You should not expect a performance gain in solving standard tasks, there is none. The emphasis was placed on the graphical component of the subsystem.

  1. Apple A5x Processor Direct upgrade from the previous A5 chip. Powered by the same 1GHz clock speed, dual core (ARM Cortex-A9). Shared with 4-core PowerVR SGX543MP4 GPU. The details of what exactly Apple did with the processor remain unclear to many experts.
  2. RAM The volume has doubled, from 512 MB in the iPad 2 to 1 GB in The new iPad.
  3. Battery Capacity increased to 11560 mAh, which inevitably resulted in an increase in the amount of time required to fully charge the battery. The tablet continues to charge after a conditional set of 100% in the iOS indicator. Take this into account when you decide to take it with you on a long trip again.
  4. 4G networks support An LTE module has been added to the 3G model, it already works in the USA (approx. Pretty good in New York), the prospects in Russia are vague. Most likely, the support of domestic operators should not be expected.

conclusions

As tablet model 2012, by far the best device available on the market. Pricing, high-quality iOS on board and a gorgeous display make the new iPad best choice for the next six months, while all other manufacturers are preparing an adequate answer.

The chasm between Apple and the rest of the companies in the current market is still colossal, but it is narrowing dramatically from year to year. I recommend not to worry about this, but only to enjoy this trend. Once competitors get close to iPad, don't worry, the company won't be on the brink of bankruptcy. It's just that Apple will no longer have a chance to present weak updates as a full-fledged new product. And that's good (c)

How to update iPad 2 The new iPad is by far one of the company's weakest announcements in years. Just a new screen, a rather weak reason for half a thousand dollars of additional costs ( minimum configuration - from $ 499).

Let's remember that the transition from iPhone 3Gs to iPhone 4, along with the retina display, was accompanied by a new form factor and a great design of the novelty. Moving from 3G to 3Gs brought the consumer a new level of device performance (clearly visible on iOS at the time). Today's iPad update is similar only to the recent MacBook Air update, which brought a new Core i-processor and backlit keys. Such updates are often presented by Apple without much fanfare, only updating its web-store. I sincerely hope that we won't see a similar future for the iPad in the coming years.

Thank you for your attention to the material. Hello everyone from Miami and happy spring 😉

If you still have questions about the new iPad, do not hesitate to leave them in the comments, we will help and answer.

Most likely, soon we will see the fifth generation iPad and it will be seriously different from the "two", which has gone through a couple of upgrades. In the meantime, I want to tell you about the experience of using the good old iPad 2012 model.

Corps and childhood illnesses

There isn't much to say here. If the iPhone of all generations had a bunch of specific sores, and with laptops not everything is simple, and dust flew under the protection of the display of the iMac of the previous generation, then the iPad of the third generation just works and that's it. Scratches and abrasions are clearly visible on the aluminum case, all this is very easy to get, I don't even know how the scratches appeared on this sample. Didn't seem to drop it. If you're tech savvy, it's best to immediately purchase a cover to protect the back panel. Because the screen does not really need protection, it quickly becomes covered with prints, but it is not so easy to leave a scratch here. The buttons work fine, but the design of the connector is very annoying, unlike the fourth generation iPad and iPad mini, the old-style plug needs to be inserted only the right side - moreover, not just insert, but push it in with a crunch. I have seen scratches near the connector on many iPad users, this is normal - I personally endorse Apple's initiative to switch to Lightning. It may not be very cool to change all the cables, but it certainly became much more convenient.

Replacement question

I will try to offer you my own view of this current topic, many people ask whether it is worth changing the iPad of the penultimate generation to the new version. I just have an iPad 3, which I bought back in Munich last year. The main differences of the new version are a new processor, Lightning connector, and an improved FaceTime camera. There is an opinion that if you switched to the iPhone 5, then it is worth replacing the iPad at least to avoid confusion with wires. I don't think it's worth it. The difference in performance is noticeable, but not so great, I generally keep quiet about the camera differences, most users do not use FaceTime on the iPad very often, at least in Russia, but iMessage is much more popular and in demand. Accordingly, I personally do not intend to change the old iPad for a new one, it makes sense to wait and see what Apple will present in 2013. It seems to me that the new iPad may well use the iPad mini design, that is, a very thin frame next to the display and a proprietary chip when the edges of the display do not respond to accidental presses. Surely it will be lighter, thinner, most likely with Retina and 4G support, it may well be that the list of versions will change - now for the fourth generation it is 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB, the younger version may disappear.

Accessories

IPad owners are happy people because they can choose from hundreds of different accessories for their device. Here I will try to give advice on the really necessary things, well, you can always see reviews of various add-ons in the Apple section.

I'll start with the covers, I've tried hundreds of different ones myself and ended up settling on Apple's SmartCover, a black leather version. This add-on has a drawback, it is very easy to unfasten, but the advantages outweigh - it practically does not increase the size of the device, it is easy to use as a stand, looks good, nothing superfluous. The minus is clear, the back is without protection, if you are afraid of scratches, then the solution will not work. In general, Apple does not produce many accessories, but all of them, as a rule, are sensible. Let's not just remember the Bluetooth headset announced with the first iPhone. In addition to SmartCover, you can also look at SmartCase, another proprietary add-on, but I don't like it due to the fact that it increases the size quite a lot. But it also protects the back, if you are afraid of scratches on the aluminum, then you should pay attention to this option. As for other accessories, I repeat, the choice is very large, I would recommend paying attention to Ozaki, SwitchEasy, HardGraft products, I liked the Denn case from the inexpensive ones, I wrote about it recently.

Headphones, as you know, are not even included in a simple model without a remote control. The choice is great, but I still remain faithful to the Apple In-Ear Headset with a remote control, although now I increasingly use the EarPods from the iPhone 5. Both the first and the second are not so expensive, the In-Ear Headset has a big plus - comfortable silicone tips, I would recommend choosing between these two models. Naturally, with the iPad, you can use any headset designed for Apple technology, from expensive Bowers & Wilkins to unnamed models. Nevertheless, Apple models remain the best choice here, I bet about reliability and sound quality, I have been using In-Ear Headset for several years, I have not noticed any problems, except that the cable has turned from white to gray - and in general this is typical for all original cables ... Just look at the power supply unit for the MBP 15, only six months have passed, and the cable has already turned gray.

Speakers, here I will once again remind you that now there are a lot of universal speakers, you can connect a variety of gadgets to such devices using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. What you don't need to do is buy a special speaker with a cradle for iPad, that is, so that the size of the cradle allows you to install a tablet. Who knows, maybe in a year you will be with the new iPad? And there is another connector. Therefore, buying the same Jawbone Big Jambox or one of the Samsung speakers (such as DA-E750) looks much more preferable. I use a simple Jambox with iPad when traveling, but at home I connect it to an audio system using a cable, also an option.

For the third generation iPad, there is an interesting branded accessory that allows you to connect an HDMI cable to the tablet and immediately display the image on the TV. If you watch films in Vkontakte, the quality will be very poor, I tried it in tandem with a Full HD TV. If you upload movies to AVPlayer yourself, then it’s quite normal for yourself - we are talking, for example, about serials in normal quality. Interestingly, this adapter was lying around for a long time, but now I often use it outside the city, the iPad works like a kind of video recorder.

There is no need to buy covers with keyboards, as a rule, they are not very good. Better buy a short Apple keyboard and an Incase Origami little thing for connecting the keyboard and tablet, a very handy thing. The keyboard will come in handy later when using it with other gadgets, for example, if you connect a monitor to a laptop. Or if you want to pair with your Android smartphone. To be honest, I hardly use a keyboard with an iPad, because there is a MacBook Air 11.

There are a great many holders in the car, and it is difficult to say which one will suit you - it all ultimately depends on the car too. In general, I would recommend paying attention to universal holders for tablets - not only for the iPad, so that the mount is movable and can be used for other devices as well. I know that many people use the iPad in the car not only for navigation, but also as a TV, a music center, in this case it is worth choosing a model with maximum memory and 3G.

Which version should I choose?

Often when choosing an iPad, people have the same question, which version to take? How much memory, do you need 3G support? I periodically conduct such consultations among friends. And it all starts corny, everyone needs top-end versions, but in fact it turns out that 16 GB + Wi-Fi is enough. It seems to me that you should not spend money on some incomprehensible advantages in reserve. My iPad mini is just the 16GB version with Wi-Fi, and that's more than enough for me, literally for all occasions. See for yourself, for sure you can listen to music from your smartphone and you don't need tens of gigabytes for a media library on your iPad. Watching movies on the road is great, but, as a rule, there are some nuances here. If you have a long flight, more than ten hours, how many films will you watch during this time? Considering that you have to sleep anyway? Well, two, three. Just in case, you can copy four or five into memory, but even in this situation, 16 GB is more than enough. Especially if you do not use AVPlayer, but prepare films using the same iTunes (that is, convert so that the size of the source file becomes smaller). As practice shows, most often the users on tablets occupy the most memory with programs, and not content, so assess your needs soberly. For example, the iPad in question has 64 GB of memory, it has been in use for a long time, and what is there in the memory? See for yourself. But I took the tablet with me on several occasions. A little music, there are a couple of films, I just took it with me on trips, everything else is programs. More often I watch movies on the net, Ivi is installed, and nobody canceled Vkontakte. You can relate to this network in different ways, but many tablet owners just register in Vkontakte in order to watch a variety of masterpieces of cinema.

Even more interesting with 3G. Do not forget that your iPhone or Android smartphone can work perfectly as an access point, so a SIM card for a tablet is sometimes bought by many along with tablets, then it is used several times, then it is happily forgotten. No, there are exceptions, and many of you reading this review buy such SIM cards for normal use of the browser while roaming, for comfortable use of Safari in a cafe (if there is no Wi-Fi there), I can think of a hundred more options. Maybe you can give me a hint. But here, as with memory, when buying, you should not take 3G in reserve, it is better to immediately estimate whether you will use it or not. With the very first iPad, I used a SIM card, with the second too, but with the third and c mini I do not see the need. If I find myself in a place where there is no Wi-Fi, then it is easier to turn on the hotspot in the iPhone. How to throw money on the SIM card installed in the tablet. Another question is, if 4G, working with our operators, appears in the new iPads, then it will be necessary to think about connecting. Well, when choosing the third generation iPad, think carefully.

By the way, if you plan to buy such a tablet for a child, then forget about 3G, but don't save on memory, educational toys and other sensible applications sometimes “weigh” a lot. Here you definitely need to take either 32 or 64 GB.

Immediately I want to say that the price range for the third generation iPad is very large, if you search, you can find the cheapest version (16 GB + Wi-Fi) for 18,000 rubles. I sincerely believe that you should not discount the secondary market as well, unlike smartphones, it often happens like this - a person buys an iPad, tries to use it, then puts it in a distant drawer. That is, it is easy to find a device in perfect condition at a good price. After rummaging through the flea markets for five minutes, I found a white iPad 3 64 GB + Wi-Fi for 20,000 rubles. child.

Programs

Surely you have your own set of software for the iPad, my device is mainly used as a replacement for a laptop at meetings, a bedside TV for watching videos, a music box in the bathroom or in the kitchen. The fact is that all iPads, including the mini, have excellent speakers. You can take your iPad with you, go to the balcony, turn on the music, and look at the surrounding scenic views. Above I said that there is practically no music on the tablet, I mainly use Soundcloud. In addition, with the release of iTunes in Russia, I bought iTunes Match, here is an excerpt from an article about the launch of the service:

“ITunes Match is also available to Russian users iTunes Match, this service helps to store the entire music library in iCloud, it costs 799 rubles per year of use, I have already subscribed. Although it makes sense to do this only for those who have several Apple devices, a smartphone, tablet, laptop (or two laptops), iMac. The bottom line is that I can send the entire library from the MacBook Pro to sky-high distances, and then access it from the iPhone without any connection to the computer. How much volume can be uploaded to the cloud? ITunes Match has a limitation, but it is connected not with the size, but with the number of songs, now it is more than twenty thousand, I do not think that many of you will have at least a thousand songs on your hard drive. "

After turning on the service on a laptop, all the tracks were transferred to the "cloud" for a rather long time, as you can see, duplicates, purchased in iTunes tracks, matching songs and so on are marked in iTunes on the laptop. All you need to do is turn on iTunes Match on iPad to choose which tracks to download to your device and which ones to leave in the cloud. In the screenshots you can see how it looks, an icon appears next to the name of the track, a cloud and an arrow, if you click, the download to the device starts. For me, iTunes Match is a very convenient way to access music from all devices, considering that I am constantly testing something, this feature is good.

Now, briefly about the rest of the programs, I'll try to simply list them in a list and explain my choice. It will be about what is on the iPad almost always, moreover, on all iOS devices. I load, look, delete a lot.

SoundCloud, the most convenient program for those who love electronic music, something like a social network where mixes are shared, artists post new tracks, and sometimes they are allowed to download new ones. I also upload my podcasts here. This cloud is installed on all Apple devices, I recommend you try it too.

KORG iElectribe, just for pampering, kind of exotic.

Shazam, program for identifying music, version for iPad.

NARR8, I don't even know what to call the utility - here are collected comics, popular science literature and other interesting things. See our video for details.

As you can see, I am actively using "Kiosk" As a rule, I buy magazines before traveling. In general, in this regard, the iPad has long replaced paper magazines for me, but what is the point of carrying a paper issue if you can download everything here, read and then not clog up the trash can.

O The appearance of the new iPad model began to be discussed almost immediately after the release of the iPad 2 (spring 2011). In the fall of 2011, Apple already announced the launch of the iPad 3 releases. The release date was also announced - March 2012, and the presentation of the iPad 3 took place in San Francisco on March 7. years. Thus, starting with iPad 3, the version number is not used in the title. It was officially named simply The NewiPad. However, the appearance of the next model less than a year later and earlier than the announced one, in the name of which sounded "4th generation", forever turned The New iPad or iPad 2012 into iPad 3.

The new model had a choice of a black and white case, a choice of 16 gb, 32 gb or 64gb memory, and was remembered by the support of 4G and, most importantly, a seriously improved display - "Retina", with an increased pixel density and a resolution of 2048x1536 (versus 1024x768 on the iPad 2), which was expected, but did not wait in due time in the second model.

This iPad is also notable for the fact that it is the first released after Steve Jobs.

Tim Cook

The first users of the third iPad immediately commended the quality of the display, camera and processor power of the new model.

In general, visually, the apple ipad 3 tablet has retained all the basic features, design and concept of its predecessors, becoming only slightly more massive.

After long-term use and in comparison with previous and next models, the third generation iPad was remembered by users as a powerful, stable and reliable tablet, albeit with one "but" - if you do not update it to the latest OS version. More on that later.

IOS version of the third iPad

The Apple iPad 3rd generation tablet started with IOS 5.1, and the last one for iPad 3, OS version 9.3.5, was released in 2016. Starting with the version of IOS 7, the design has completely changed - to replace skeuomorphism (volumetric design), which in turn made working with the device as clear as possible even for a child, a stylish trendy flat one came.

Users, however, noted that the iPad ran the fastest on version 6.1.3.

Firmware

IPad 3 allows you to install a new version of iOS completely free of charge from the official website. There you can also find out the latest OS version for your model.

We remind you: in the winter of 2018, Apple unexpectedly for everyone officially allowed downgrade - changing the firmware to older versions of IOS, the so-called. kickbacks, thus violating the well-established "apple" policy. Perhaps this was due to a wave of indignation about the low performance when installing software, especially on devices with a worn-out battery. Now rollbacks are available only for certain versions and models.

Many people note the highest performance in the history of IOS and a successful 6.1.3 interface, nostalgic for IOS 6.1.3, which provided maximum device autonomy. According to reviews, it was 6.1.3 - the latest IOS, which provided charging for the whole day, while keeping all applications active.

It is considered ideal for the iPad 3 and legendary in terms of Apple's original philosophy. Business design, minimalism, high-speed performance, well-coordinated work of all components, battery stability - all this is lacking in the latest devices from Apple, which, according to experts, are becoming more and more similar to Android devices.

By the way, for the 4s and iPad 2, Apple is still signing on to 6.1.3. However, the situation may change, so check your specific situation at a particular moment on the ipsw.me website, where you can also download the firmware version. For those who decide to rollback, experts recommend getting bogged down first.

Latest version of IOS iPad 3

IOS 9.3.5 firmware is the latest for iPad 3 and final for iOS 9. Quite stable, but resource-intensive. Users do not advise using it, since there are noticeable system hangs and it is generally uncomfortable to work on it. According to reviews, it is worth updating to iOS 9.3.5 only in one case - if you are already on version 9. For iPad 3 after 6.1.3, it will be more comfortable to update only to version 7 or 8. Who wants to get performance, but not the outdated volumetric design - it is best to stay with version 7, it consumes less resources than versions 8 and 9.

Let us dwell on some important characteristics in more detail.

Battery

The Apple iPad 3 has been equipped with a more powerful battery than its predecessors. Considering the new screen, this is rather a necessary measure.

Frame

The body of the iPad 3 is thicker and heavier than its predecessor and most of its successors, but thanks to this it is more reliable - even if dropped, it may not be damaged. Thickness and weight are due to a more powerful and voluminous battery.

Keyboard

Noteworthy in the iPad 3 at the time of release was the keyboard with the ability to dictate by voice ( voice assistant Siri in different languages is not yet available on this model).

IPad 3

Camera

The iPad 3 offers a more powerful iSight camera with autofocus and an advanced optical system that allows you to create better quality photos and videos than the previous two models. Full HD video recording is now available [email protected]

Screen

The most anticipated in the iPad 3 was the Retina screen, with super-resolution and 3x4 aspect ratio, on which pixels are 4 times larger than previous versions and at the same time they are not visible to the human eye. Photos on it look juicier, games are more realistic.

Touchscreen

The bezel of the matrix is wide enough to be able to comfortably hold the device in hands without touching the touch screen.

Display

The viewing angle of 178 degrees allows you to watch movies comfortably.

Glass and touchscreen replacement

Screen covered protective glass with a touchscreen, which, if necessary, can be replaced - both the glass together with the touchscreen panel, and all this separately. Replacing the glass is also possible at home - but taking into account the fact that antennas and microcircuits are attached under the edges of the touchpad, a very delicate mastery of the case is required.

Features of apple ipad 3

Recall that the idea of creating a tablet came to Steve Jobs in 2010, the essence of which is to refuse a combination of keyboard, computer and monitor and replace it with one universal portable device that would be convenient and beautiful. Considering the purpose of the iPad, the apple iPad 3 is surprisingly up to the task even after so many years since its inception.

It is noteworthy that it was the Ipad 3 with an improved screen, which had no analogues, that became the first devices that users of android smartphones wanted to buy and were appreciated by them.

But is an iPad 3 needed in 2019 and how much does it cost to purchase it?

Let's note how the apple ipad 3 tablet differs from other models of the entire ipad line.

  • The iPads 3 and 4 differed from the iPads of the latest generations by the largest battery capacity, so the latest models still hold a charge worse.
  • The pixel density of 264 dpi was also ideal for the iPad in the third generation model. This density turned out to be optimal regardless of the screen diagonal. By the way, the 9.7 diagonal in the iPad 3 also turned out to be optimal and the most popular.
  • This is the first iPad to introduce a revolutionary new Retina screen, combined with a reliable battery and an already nostalgic "natural" design (in the case of IOS 6.1.3). At the same time, it has high performance. For this he is ranked among the rare and special.

Price policy

At the time of release, the cost of the iPad 3 was $ 500 without taxes, and with the 4G module - $ 629 without taxes.

Buy now iPad 3

Now Ipad 3 with IOS 6.1.3 can be purchased only used for $ 100 or less, or used for a whole thousand dollars already as a "museum piece".

Judging by the reviews, this model with IOS 6.1.3 continues to work stably to this day and regularly performs its functions.

A huge number of Apple lovers became interested in retro versions, when official rollbacks to older versions of the OS suddenly became available in mid-2018. It is IOS 6.1.3 that has become and remains the most demanded for rollback. After it, no other was considered so clear and convenient in terms of interface logic and so stable in terms of optimization.

Surprisingly, the main applications we use today by downloading them App Store will be compatible with 6.1.3, although these will be their older and simpler versions.

Video review of iPad 3

The tablet has received an improved Apple A5X processor, specially created for the Retina display. The processor contains 2 main cores ARM Cortex A9 and 4 graphics cores (PowerVR SGX543MP4) and, according to Schiller, is four times faster than the 4-core Nvidia Tegra 3 chip in terms of graphics processing speed. HD 1080p. The new iPad has the expected support for 4G LTE technology.

Apple iPad 3: the first real test in Russia

For the third year in the beginning of spring, people who are not indifferent to tablets are starting to feel fever. Will or will not represent Apple New Product? And what's new there? So far, the company manages to surprise every time. And this is an undeniable quality that attracts loyal customers and forms a huge army of fans. And on the contrary, any “cosmetic” changes in the product cause a desire to “bury” the company, which is supposedly “not the same” (c).
